About Dr Kushil
Dr Kushil Kaur is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over fifteen years of experience in psychiatry, providing specialist mental health care across both the public and private healthcare sectors.
She has a special interest in neurodevelopmental psychiatry, with expertise in the comprehensive assessment and management of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disorders, intellectual developmental disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions across children, adolescents and adults. Her clinical practice also includes the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related conditions, behavioural and emotional difficulties, and other complex psychiatric disorders.
Prior to entering full-time private practice, Dr Kushil served as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Malaysian Ministry of Health, where she gained extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions across outpatient, inpatient and multidisciplinary settings. She currently practises at The Mind Faculty, where she provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evidence-based treatment, educational and workplace assessments, and collaborative care for individuals and families.
Dr Kushil adopts a formulation-based approach, recognising that each person's presentation is influenced by biological, psychological, developmental and social factors. She believes that effective psychiatric care extends beyond diagnosis, focusing on improving overall functioning, quality of life and long-term outcomes through personalised, evidence-based treatment.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Kushil is actively involved in teaching, research and professional education. She holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor and has presented her work at national and international scientific meetings, with research interests in public health, epidemiology and the application of data-driven approaches to healthcare.
MBBS (Manipal Academy of Higher Education), a Master of Psychological Medicine (Universiti Malaya) and a Diploma in Learning Disorder Management & Child Psychology. Registered with the MMC and the National Specialist Register.
