Questions & answers
The things people ask us first
A few honest answers to the questions that come up most before a first visit. If yours isn't here, we're a message away, no question is too small.
How do I book a first appointment?
You can book in a few ways: send us a message through the contact form, tap "Book a consultation" anywhere on this site, or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us a little about what's bringing you in and we'll match you with the right specialist, then find a time that suits you.
A member of the team replies within one working day, by email or WhatsApp, whichever you prefer.
What happens in a first session?
The first session is mostly about listening. Your clinician will ask what's brought you in, a little about your history, and what you're hoping for, at a pace that feels comfortable. There's no pressure to have the right words or to share more than you want to.
By the end, you'll usually have a clearer sense of what's going on and what the next steps could look like.
What are your fees?
Fees depend on who you see and the type of session, since our faculty spans psychiatry, psychology, counselling and complementary therapies. We're happy to talk you through the costs for your situation before you commit to anything.
Just ask us on WhatsApp or through the contact form and we'll give you clear figures.
Can I use insurance or claim for my sessions?
It depends on your insurer and your policy. Some plans cover psychiatric or psychological care, and we can provide the documentation many insurers ask for. Tell us who you're insured with and we'll help you understand what's likely covered before your first visit.
Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your clinician, held to professional and ethical standards of confidentiality. The only rare exceptions are where there's a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, and your clinician will always be open with you about those limits.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Many of our practitioners offer secure video sessions alongside in-person appointments, so you can be seen from wherever you are. Some care, such as certain assessments, is best done in person, and we'll let you know if that's the case for you. Just tell us your preference when you book.
How do I know which specialist is right for me?
You don't have to work that out on your own. Tell us what's on your mind and we'll guide you to the practitioner whose discipline, approach and language fit you best. You're also welcome to read our faculty's profiles and ask for someone specific.
What languages can I be seen in?
Between them, our faculty work in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Cantonese and Tamil, among others. Let us know the language you're most comfortable in and we'll match you with a practitioner who speaks it.
Do I need a referral to see a psychiatrist?
No, you can come to us directly, no referral letter needed. If you've been referred by a GP or another professional, that background is helpful to bring along, but it isn't required to book.
Where are you, and what are your hours?
We're at 11 Jalan Solaris 4, Solaris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. We're open Monday to Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturday from 8am to 7pm, and Sunday from 9am to 4pm. We're also open on some public holidays, so do check with us.
If you need directions or have any access needs, just ask and we'll help.
